Hawks Sign Dewayne Dedmon
Spurs center Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a 2 year $14 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
Not the greatest offensive player but Dedmon provides exactly what any NBA team needs in terms of rebounding and defense. Solid pickup for the Hawks, though the Spurs will miss his presence in the paint.
Pistons And Pelicans Discussing Reggie Jackson Deal?
The Detroit Pistons are reportedly discussing sending Reggie Jackson to New Orleans in exchange for E’Twaun Moore and Alexis Ajinca. This could be a solid move for both sides.
Jackson is coming off a disappointing season, where he battled injuries and poor play. A fresh start could be good for him. He would most likely be backing up Jrue Holiday, but he could provide some nice offensive lift off the pine and he would be the unquestioned leader of the second unit. The Pels would also have the option of playing Holiday and Jackson together. They would likely experiment with this. Also, with Jrue Holiday’s injury history, it would be a good thing for New Orleans to have a guy that can step in and start.
Detroit would also benefit from this, adding a decent shooter (Moore) to their back-court rotation. Ajinca would add some front court depth, something that the Pelicans are not in need of, having the most lethal front court in the NBA, with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.
In other news, the Lakers have met with Rajon Rondo as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Detroit have signed Anthony Tolliver to a 1 year deal.
KD sold Paul George on OKC, saying that they would “blow him away”. PG has also said that his interest in the Lakers has been “overstated” and that if the Thunder have an awesome season, he would be “dumb to leave”.
